For CPD Thing 2, we explore other blogs and get to know some of the other cpd23-ers.
With so many people taking part it was really hard to know where to start. I decided to use the excellent Delicious list and browse the categories that interested me.
As I currently work in the corporate sector, I'm an aviation geek, and I lived and worked in Australia for 10 years, I zoomed straight to Australian corporate librarian Alisa's Flight Path blog. She hasn't started her cpd23 blog entries yet but I don't care - I'm really glad to have found it.
I listened in to the 23 Things webinar that CPD23 organisers Niamh and Charlotte took part in yesterday, and was thrilled that Nebraska librarians had embraced the whole idea. (I tweeted some of it as @LibClare and Isla gamely captured it on Tweetdoc). Niamh made the excellent point that 23 Things programmes have led to a stronger feeling of community, and often resulted in collaborations across the world.
So, with that in mind and via the Nebraska connection I found Susie Q's blog and look forward to following her perspective on the programme.
Yes, I'd better get onto starting to blog through cpd23. My apologies. I'm flattered to see someone located so far away look forward to my posts. Thanks so much. Starting my blog was such a massive step for me. It was daunting at first, but it does get easier. I thought my role in aviation & thoughts on librarianship wasn't something anyone would want to read about. If you find a purpose for each post, you will find quality & meaning in your content.
